Chinese New Year Welcomes the Year of the Dog

The Chinese New Year begins on Friday 16th January and yes, it is the Year of the Earth Dog, the first one since 1958. Anyone born in an earth dog year is said to be communicative, serious, and responsible in the work place. A dog’s most defining quality is their loyalty. They are honest and just and popular in social circles.

There are numerous events planned around the country. Why not find out where your local one is and go along and have some fun.

In Plymouth on Sunday 18th February there will be a traditional Chinese lion dance to start the celebration. It runs from 11am to 4pm and the event is free. Local businesses, food and art stalls and much more on display.
